台灣是出書再給ISBN

ISBN 不能重複使用，就像書籍的身分證：

(1)一個 ISBN 號一經分配，在任何情況下都不能重複使用。

(2)發現該 ISBN 號分配錯誤，也不得再分配給其他出版物。

(3)確定 ISBN 號分配錯誤的出版者應將錯誤的ISBN號報告給有關的ISBN組區管理機構。

ISBN在出版物上的顯示位置：

1. Verso of the title page (copyright page) 書名頁的反面

2. Foot of the title page, if there is no space on the title verso

書名頁的下方(書名頁的反面擺不下才會放置)

3. Lower section of the outside back cover 封底的下方

4. Foot of the back of the jacket, or any other protective case, or wrapper

ISBN管理機構：

2. ISBN registration agency 各組區的管理：

ISBN 組區管理機構可根據組區內的責任劃分在不同國家、地區、語言或其他合理的責任組區層面上進行管理。

Within a group there may be several national agencies.

在一個組區內可以有幾個國家及組區管理機構。

3. Publisher 出版者的管理：

出版者負責對其出版物分配書名號並保證使用符合規範

看國家和地區，有些出版書籍可以不用使用ISBN

ONIX：儲存ISBN的資料庫系統

1. ONIX 是代表圖書業、系列出版物和電子形式的電子產品資訊和通訊的國際標準。

2. 主要由EDItEUR負責管理和持續發展，它協調國家組織(National Group)和一個國際組委會構成網路來維繫工作，最新發佈的版本是 ONIX3.0。

3. 從出版者的經驗來看，ONIX 圖書帶來兩個商業利益。

(1)作為一種交換格式，將大量豐富的圖書資訊以標準的格式在供應鏈上傳遞，暢通了批發商、供應商、大型零售商、數據集成商及附屬公司之間的資訊交換。

(2)通過提供一種模式化的圖書資訊記錄 ONIX，促進內部資訊系統的推行，能夠將所有必要的中繼資料整合到一起，描述和更新圖書目錄。其核心資料同樣也能製作成重要書目、資料包告等宣傳性材料。

4. 圖書 ONIX 已分別由美國國會圖書館和英國圖書館映射到 MARC21 和 UNIMARC 。

5. 被一些國家圖書館用於從出版者那裡接收有關出版目錄（CIP）、產品資訊或完善線上公用目錄（OPACs）。

6. 現在 ONIX 圖書的一個子集說明已經開放，旨在於承載 ISBN 註冊中心所需的中繼資料。當不必要提供完整的 ONIX 圖書資訊時，出版社可以運用它來通知他們的註冊中心。

ISSN國際標準連續出版物編號

ISO 3297:1998

定義：

無限期連續出版的出版物，通常附有期號標識和年月標識，以表明要無限期的連續出版下去。連續性資源包括期刊、年鑒和專題性的叢書。

(1)ISSN在台灣是沒有中心，需要用英文寫E-mail給法國巴黎國際期刊資料系統中心才能夠申請，現在多是請圖書館幫忙代轉申請。

(2) ISSN International Centre國際連續出版物中心管理

(3)給ISSN同時會給一個Key title

(可自行選，除非與他人重複，會給三個選項選擇)，兩者是不可分離的

(4)ISSN主要處理兩種格式MARC 21、UNIMARC(葡萄牙國家圖書館管理)

主要處理上述兩種格式→大多數國家使用

(5)分類法：杜威十進位分類法、國際十進位分類法

UDC. Universal Decimal Classification國際十進位分類法為分類法中最完整的

(6)ISSN沒有分數字代碼的意涵

(7)同一內容叢刊出版發行在不同語言、地區或裝置都會給新的ISSN

ISSN計算：

1.Take the first seven digits of the ISSN (the check digit is the eighth and last digit)	0 3 1 7 8 4 7
2.Take the weighting factors associated with each digit	8 7 6 5 4 3 2
3. Multiply each digit in turn by its weighting factor	0 21 6 35 32 12 14
4. Add these numbers together	0+21+6+35+32+12+14=120
5.Divide this sum by the modulus 11	120:11=10 remainder 10
6. Subtract the remainder from 11	11-10 1
7. Add the remainder, which is the check digit, to the extreme right (low order) position of the base number of the ISSN	0317-8471
If the remainder is 10, substitute an upper case X in the check digit position. If there is no remainder,put a zero in the check digit position 若校驗碼為X則表示整除餘數為0

ISMN國際標準樂譜編碼

前綴號 979-0

定義：

標識所有印刷的音樂出版物，不論它是用於銷售、出租或贈送。

The ISMN is designed to rationalize the processing and handling of notated music and the respective bibliographical data for publishing houses, the music trade and libraries.

As of 1 January 2008 the ISMN consists of 13 digits starting with 979-0
Existing 10-digit ISMNs are prefixed by 979-
The leading M- of the 10-digit ISMNs will be replaced by 0- (zero)
The resulting 13-digit number will be identical with the EAN-13 number that is currently encoded in the bar code

ISO Standard 10957 gives the basic rules of the ISMN system.

The thirteen-digit number allows a billion items each to carry a different number.

ISMN的組成

M-2306-7118-7

M the prefix M which distinguished the ISMN from other standard numbers (Prefix element 前綴)

2306 a publisher ID which identifies a certain music publisher (Publisher element 出版者)

7118 an item ID which identifies a certain item of notated music (Item element 項目)

7 a check digit which validates the number mathematically.
